During my residency at Cowwarr Art Space in Australia I was taken with the expressiveness of the massive 100-year-old cypress trees which surrounded the property and created their own ecosystem. They housed many creatures and also mitigated the effects of winds, sun and storms. My paintings of these trees seek to capture the complexity, power and mystery of these marvelous trees.
